Happy birthday Leo and Seba

Today my twin boys Leonardo and Sebastiano turned 13 !

They were born 5 weeks earlier and the smallest was 2,3kg at his lowest.

I can't believe now they're taller than me.

I love them deeply.

Sometime they drive me crazy

and one moment later I'm in awe of their maturity.

of their gentle soul, innocence and irony.

Life with them is great.

Finally back

Oh my oh my ! It has been one really crazy week the past one ! And my poor cyber-home has been neglected and hardly ever checked. Let's go back to sunday the 29th of march. It has been a very exciting day, because Gaia had a dance show performing her own coreography. She has been practicing for weeks without showing us a single move, so we were all very thrilled for her performance ... and it has been great ! People cheered and shouted and complimented her, and they came to me to tell me how beautiful was her coreography and I had to fight with myself to keep those tears (of joy and pride ) to fall ... she has been incredible and she is MY sweet child, my my and only my ! :)

The same day we had the pleasure to meet a new friend, an incredible american boy whose dream is to sing and make movies, and that lives here in Loviisa, came over to join Gaia and her friend Moa during their radio program Back and Forth. Of course we didn't miss the chance to make a new friend, so he's been spending quite a lot of time here with us ....

After an early spring, the beginning of last week had also a quite dreadful surprise for us ...

..... SNOW....

You know, we're rather snow lover, I mean really, we think snow is such a magical gift ... but ...

but not at the end of march !! Please !!!!

But just for your information, in case you might be interested, it seems that spring is slowly finding its way back ... (today +10 !!!!!!! )

And finally we arrived at thursday, the 1st of april, april fool's day or Gaia's BIRTHDAY !

My sweet wonderful talented doughter turned 15 !! I can't believe, the little newborn who made a mother of me, is fifteen !!! I can see a wonderful future unfolding in front of her !

But the very same night James got a very bad flu, during the night the temp arrive at 39C and he stopped sleeping. He woke up around one in the night and simple styed awake for 3 days and nights, being absolutely miserable during the day, but still not sleeping at all at night. At some point I seriously thought he would go on like this forever, but when I was on the verge of despair he finally got better and started sleeping normally again. 

And on sunday we celebrated Ester, since Jimmy was still quite sick I couldn't really take care of decorations and food as I usually do, but it turned out nice anyways ...

Easter day was spent eating, joking and going crazy with our loombands !!!!

It is good to be back.

It is good to be healthy.

It is good to be with family and friends.

It is good to be in spring.

Celebrating

My birthday yesterday has been probably the most beautiful of the last 20 years. Really. A relaxing day, filled with laughs, junk food, lovely things and nice surprises.

In the morning Gaia woke up earlier than everybody else to bake some heart shaped muffins for breakfast. When I joined her in the kitchen I found the table already set and with a nice parcel on my place.
When everybody was up we ate all together and I opened my gifts. One was from my family and the other was a *self-made-present* on behalf of my mother.

After a lazy ( for me) morning spent crocheting and chatting with Gaia who was busy baking the cheesecake for the party, we went out to eat. We decided to do to the temple of junk-food : RAX. At a reasonable price you can fill your plate from the buffet as many times as you want. It's a good place to go few times a year, very family friendly, affordable even for *larger* families, children loves it and sure enough it builds up our immune system eheheheheheh.

We arrived back home from Porvoo soon before Gaia needed to go to her dance class, so we decided to make a dinner-party. When she came back we had dinner with bruschetta , chips and pop-corns, candies and cheesecake.

We took so many pictures, of the (not really anymore) children, of me and them, of the whole family, laughing and joking. really the best birthday ever. With such a good start, this 39 will be GREAT !!!!!!

and a smartphone !!! Wow ! I had an older cell phone I found at the second hand store 3 years ago when we moved here, I'm not much into cell-phones but this looks really nice and I'm sure it can do a lot of funny things ( as soon as I learn how to use it ... )

Thirty-nine

In little more than one hour I will turn 39. It is strange. When I was 19 I was very excited to enter in my twenties, I knew I was going to get merried, get a house on my own, become a mother ... very exciting things.
When I was 29 I felt so sad and scared to be turning 30. I felt I wasn't 'so young' anymore, that chances and occasions and exciting things belonged to the past.
Now at ( almost ;) ) 39 I am so so excited at the idea to turn 40 next year. Yep call me crazy, but this new decade of my life that is about unfolding before my eyes will bring so many new things. I will see few of my children leave the nest, maybe getting married, and if I'm really blessed I might become a grandmother.
So this 39th birthday is somehow closing an era of my life. And as the grand finale of this third decade I want to make it special. I want to use my gifts, I want to share my joys, I want to love my children, I want to move in the direction of my dreams trusting they will become true.
